Against Me! are an American folk rock/folk punk band formed in Naples, Florida, in 1997, before relocating to Gainesville. The original lineup consisted of Laura Jane Grace (vocals, guitar), Chris Conley (guitar), James Bowman (bass) and Warren Oakes (drums). Their debut album, *Reinventing Axl Rose*, was released in 2002 by the independent label No Idea Records. The band then signed with Fat Wreck Chords, releasing albums such as *Searching for a Former Clarity* (2005) and *New Wave* (2007), which solidified their success in the underground punk rock scene. In 2010, Against Me! signed with major label Sire Records, releasing the album *White Crosses*, a more mature and introspective work that received widespread critical acclaim. In 2014, Laura Jane Grace became the first transgender person to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine. The band continues to be active, releasing the album *Shape Shift* in 2016. Some of their most representative songs include: «Transgender Dysphoria Blues», «Pints of Guinness Drinking Contest», «Thrash Unreal» and «I Was a Teenage Anarchist».
