Daughtry is an American rock band formed in 2006 by Chris Daughtry, a former contestant on American Idol. After finishing fourth place in the fifth season of the talent show, Daughtry signed with RCA Records and formed a band to support his solo career. Their self-titled debut album, released in November 2006, was an immediate success, topping the Billboard 200 chart and remaining at number one on the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart for 14 weeks.
