Biography

Dave Borgobello, all'anagrafe Davide Borgobello, è un cantautore e scrittore nato a Gemona del Friuli il Primo Ottobre del 1989. Dopo essersi diplomato come tecnico delle imprese turistiche si iscrive in un primo momento alla facoltà di archeologia, ma la abbandona dopo un anno per iniziare a lavorare nei tour operator e negli alberghi. Inizia a scrivere racconti all'età di sedici anni e nel 2008 pubblica una raccolta di racconti dal titolo "Senza motivo apparente" sotto lo pseudonimo di Edward K Reyne. Nel 2011 assieme agli amici Matteo Pina, Riccardo Menis e Alessio Zoratto (oggi celebre contrabbassista) fonda la band Hard Rock "The spitfire". Nel 2012 si convince a dedicarsi totalmente alla sua carriera artistica e si trasferisce a Roma dove frequenta la Roma Film Academy diplomandosi in sceneggiatura cinematografica. Nel 2013 scrive e produce il pilota della serie tv "Registi Senza Gloria" con Carlo Fabiano, Mirko Bruno, Diane Fleri e Augusto Zucchi che però, pur ottenendo un ottimo riconoscimento di critica alla sua presentazione, non trova seguiti produttivi importanti. Nel 2014 fonda assieme ad altri lavoratori del mondo dello spettacolo l'associazione culturale Duel APS assumendo la presidenza, carica che ricopre a tutt'oggi. L'associazione opera nel settore del cinema, dello spettacolo e degli eventi culturali e nel corso degli anni collabora alla produzione di diversi autori di successo come Claudio Colica e Gian Marco Saolini. Negli anni di Roma collabora alla scrittura e alla produzione di altre diverse opere audiovisive tra cui alcuni spot, diversi cortometraggi e vince il premio Albero Andronico nel 2015 per la miglior sceneggiatura con il cortometraggio "L'ultima Scelta" di Tommaso Trombetta. Nel 2016 gira nella sua Udine il suo primo cortometraggio alla regia, The Editor, con gli attori Arturo Scognamiglio, Lorenza Sorino, Mauro Avogadro, Pietro Biondi, Federico Scridel e Zara Morandini. In quell'anno la decisione di tornare a vivere in Friuli, dopo aver conosciuto sul set del suo cortometraggio Eleonora Mazzari che svolgeva il ruolo di comparsa e che tre anni dopo diventerà sua moglie. Sempre nel 2016 diventa cantante della band rock psichedelica "Warhuls" con cui si esibisce anche al Cinema Visionario nel 2017. Dal 2014 al 2017 si era esibito anche come piano bar in alcuni locali di Roma, eseguendo principalmente pezzi di Tom Waits, Paolo Conte, De Andrè e Battisti, suoi principali riferimenti musicali. Dopo una pausa di tre anni in cui lavora come direttore commerciale per diverse agenzie di marketing, nel 2019 il ritorno alla narrativa con una serie di racconti che ricevono numerosi riconoscimenti dalla critica e vincono svariati premi letterari in tutta italia fino ad arrivare alla alla pubblicazione del suo primo romanzo nel 2022, "Le verità degli incubi" per Walter Manzoni Editore, vincitore del premio narrativa indipendente e finalista al Giallo Festival di Bologna. Nel 2020 fonda assieme agli amici attori Arturo Scognamiglio e Lorenza Sorino Unaltroteatro s.r.l, realtà che opera nel settore del cinema e del teatro e che nel 2022 prende in gestione il Cinema Auditorium Zambra, di cui Davide Borgobello assume la co-direzione artistica per un anno. Nel 2023 il ritorno alla musica scrivendo testi e linee melodiche iniziando a incidere un primo doppio album dal titolo "Quel che rimane nel miglior mondo possibile", assieme all'amico e cantautore Alessio Velliscig che cura assieme a lui gli arrangiamenti e suona le chitarre. L'album sarà pubblicato nel 2024. Nell'album le collaborazioni con il sassofonista Federico Missio e il batterista Nicholas Morasutto, che cura anche la fase di Mix e produzione. Nello stesso anno termina il suo secondo libro, la raccolta di racconti "Dove tutto rimane" che esce il 21 ottobre 2023 per Kapp Vu Edizioni in un evento congiunto in castello di Udine in cui presenta in anteprima alcuni brani dell'album. Ad oggi lavora con l'associazione Eurtimica per l'organizzazione degli eventi Udin
