Franz Campi presentatore, conduttore televisivo e ideatore di rassegne, è noto per essere un artista poliedrico e dalle mille sfumature. interprete di teatro-canzone, ha firmato numerosi testi pop per numerosi artisti (tra cui "Banane e lampone" per Gianni Morandi), per la lirica (il libretto dell'opera "La famosa invasione degli orsi in Sicilia" tratto da un lavoro di Buzzati con le musiche del M. Marco Biscarini), e per i più piccoli (diversi brani dell'album "Il re dei re" e la sigla de "L'albero della vita"), sigle TV (Campionato di basket Lega2 per RAI), spot radiofonici (il recente jingle della Mortadella Bologna IGP). Dal 1999 ha sposato la formula del Teatro-Canzone portando in scena "Ciao Signor G. !", dedicato a Giorgio Gaber; "Tutti i gatti vengono al pettine"; "Sono Fred, dal whisky facile" per ricordare il grande Fred Buscaglione; "Intonati a regola d'arte" sulla pittura e l'arte contemporanea; "Canzoni da ridere" sulle canzoni ironiche del cantautorato italiano; "Lo zingaro miracoloso ? Django Reinhardt, il geniale chitarrista manouche"; "Siamo o non siamo la coppia più bella del mondo ?" che ripropone i grandi duetti della canzone italiana; "Canzoni da mangiare" che porta in scena i brani più celebri dedicati al cibo; "Confessioni di un misogino pentito" che racconta le diseguaglianze tra i sessi e la storia di grandi donne; "Canta che ti passa", un divertente karaoke con il pubblico che diventa protagonista. Recentemente ha interpretato "Giuseppe Verdi, Re del Pop" come attore di prosa e raccontato le vicende e cantato il repertorio del "grande Raba", interprete degli anni '30 e '40 in "Quando canta Rabagliati!". Ideatore e conduttore di rassegne dedicate alla musica, alla poesia, al fumetto ed alla letteratura come "Campi diversi", "Parole animate", "Premiata Palestra Atlas per muscoli del cervello", "Eroticamente" e "L'assassino è il chitarrista", da cui è stato tratto l'omonimo libro di racconti firmato da Lucarelli, Fois, Rigosi, Macchiavelli ed altri affermati giallisti... Presentatore e conduttore radiofonico ha scritto e diretto "Cos'è che mi dici" per Radio3 RAI, "Top Premiere Awards" (in onda su decine di emittenti italiane e estere) e dal 2020 è co-autore e conduttore del programma TV "Zorba" dedicato all'ambiente e alla salute. Dal 2015 ricopre il ruolo di direttore artistico del contest musicale "Tieni il palco", giunto alla quarta edizione, che ha permesso di esibirsi a più di 900 musicisti. Ha curato una collana di audiolibri per conto di Area51Publishing e ne ha firmati diversi dedicati a grandi protagonisti della musica e dello spettacolo. Nel 1994 pubblica il primo album "Franz Campi", a cui nel 2004 ha fatto seguito "Saluta i gatti e buonasera". Nel 2000 ha firmato insieme a Gaetano Curreri e Stefano Nosei "Febbre Fortitudo", l'inno della Fortitudo basket, che proprio quell'anno ha vinto il campionato di serie A. Nel 2007 e 2008 ha dato vita, insieme al Centro San Domenico di Bologna e al Centro Internazionale della Canzone d'autore, il "Festival Lyrics ? autori e canzoni" e ha fatto parte del comitato scientifico del Centro Internazionale della Canzone d'autore fondato da Lucio Dalla e Davide Rondoni. Nel 2012 ha scritto la sigla del Campionato nazionale di basket Legadue trasmesso nelle dirette RAI. Nel 2013 è uscito per Ermitage Edizioni il cofanetto "Che soggetto quel Fred!" con un documentario sulla vita di Fred Buscaglione, firmato da Franz e Stefano Neri, ed un CD con le sue canzoni interpretate da Franz. Nel 2016 ha pubblicato "Django Reinhardt ? Lo zingaro miracoloso" e "Fred Buscaglione, il profeta dello swing italiano ? Audiolibri" per Area51 publishing. Sempre nel 2016 è stato direttore artistico e organizzatore di "Ban Nadèl", un "album di famiglia" che ha coinvolto una sessantina di artisti. Un brano in "dialetto bolognese" che rievoca la bellezza della città. Un DVD con una canzone, anche in versione karaoke, e due video (uno della canzone ed uno di circa 40' con i saluti e gli sketch di artisti e sportivi), realizzato per una raccolta di fondi a fini benefici. Il progetto è stato replicato nel 2018 con altri artisti tra cui Luca Carboni, Paolo Cevoli, Cristiano Militello, Gianni Fantoni, Vito, Andrea Mingardi, Walter Nudo, Ivano Marescotti, Dodi Battaglia, Eugenio Finardi. Nel 2017 pubblica l'audiolibro "Non solo canzonette" ? la storia della canzone italiana dal Regno d'Italia al secondo dopoguerra" e nel 2018 "Promuovi la tua musica ? Strategia e strumenti per far sentire la tua voce". Dal 2018 collabora con il Consorzio Mortadella Bologna IGP in veste di narratore della storia del celebre salume in spettacoli, incontri e presentazioni. Il 19 novembre 2021 esce il suo terzo album di inediti "Il sentimento prevalente" che lui definisce "un tuffo nell'anima, un divincolarsi tra le riflessioni che, più o meno inconsciamente, tutti cerchiamo di evitare".
