Soprannominato «Monsieur 100.000 volts» per la sua energia scenica e per aver composto oltre 400 canzoni, Bécaud ha dominato la scena musicale francese per decenni. Il suo stile, caratterizzato da melodie romantiche e testi poetici, lo ha reso uno dei cantanti più amati di sempre in Francia.
