Harry Kirby McClintock (8 ottobre 1882 – 24 aprile 1957), noto anche come "Haywire Mac", è stato un cantante e poeta americano. Nato a Knoxville, Tennessee, figlio di un falegname ferroviario e nipote di quattro braccianti ferroviari, la sua vita fu segnata da avventure fin dall'infanzia. Fuggiasco da casa per unirsi a un circo, viaggiò in Africa come ferroviere, lavorò come marinaio e partecipò alla guerra filippina come fornitore di provviste per le truppe americane. Nel 1899 si ritrovò in Cina come assistente di giornalisti che coprivano la rivolta dei Boxer. Tornato negli Stati Uniti, trovò lavoro sulla Pennsylvania Railroad e poi intraprese il percorso ferroviario come minstrello. McClintock visse una vita avventurosa, mantenendo sempre un senso dell'umorismo. La sua musica era spesso caratterizzata da storie di viaggio, personaggi pittoreschi e umorismo tagliente. Alcuni dei suoi brani più noti includono "The Ballad of Haywire Mac", "Railroad Blues" e "China Town".
