
Luigi Porto is an Italian-American composer and songwriter. His musical output spans from alternative rock to electronic music, passing through contemporary music. He has released albums under his own name and pseudonyms such as Appleyard College and Mond. He has collaborated with artists like Maisie, playing and writing songs for them. Porto has composed film scores, chamber music and orchestral works performed in prestigious venues like La Croisette, Carnegie Hall and the Casino di Sanremo. He has also written an opera, "Anita di Laguna". Besides music, Porto is a film sound designer with over 100 films to his credit, presented at international festivals such as Cannes, Rome, Venice, Turin, BAFTA and Academy Awards. He has collaborated with visual artists in projects exhibited at MACRO and MoMA. In 2020 he founded Respirano Records in New York, for which he released his latest album, "Tell Uric". Previously, he released "Scimmie" (Cineploit/Snowdonia, 2014), soundtrack of a film by Romano Scavolini that received widespread media attention and international radio airplay on Rai, Globo and BBC.
