Milano 84 è un progetto musicale nato dall'incontro tra Fabio Di Ranno e Fabio Fraschini, autori, musicisti e produttori che si propongono di manipolare il pop degli anni '80 per portarlo nel presente. Accompagnati dal vivo dalla vocalist Alice Silvestrini, con cui hanno già collaborato in studio, Milano 84 ha pubblicato il loro album di debutto "Monochromatic" ad ottobre 2021. L'album vanta prestigiose collaborazioni come Vincenzo Salvia (Stranger Things) e Fabio Liberatori (Dalla, Stadio). Il concept del duo si basa sull'influenza indelebile degli anni '80 sulla cultura contemporanea, reinterpretando iconicità trasversali dell'epoca italiana e internazionale con un gusto moderno. Musica, design, fumetto, arte, televisione e cinema sono le fonti di ispirazione per Milano 84, che cita come riferimenti artisti come Battiato, Alexander Robotnick, Krisma, Gazebo, Garbo, Matia Bazar, Baustelle, Delta V, Pet Shop Boys, Alphaville, Duran Duran, New Order, Madonna, Goldfrapp e Chromatics. Il loro sound è un mix di italo disco, euro-synth pop felice e triste, new wave italiana, con influenze anche da Ennio Morricone, Elio Fiorucci, Mario Convertino, Stefano Tamburini, Graziano Origa (Punk Artist), Ettore Sottsass, Alessandro Mendini, Edo Bertoglio, Pier Vittorio Tondelli, Frigidaire, Alter Linus e Diabolik. Milano 84 incarna l'estetica degli anni '80 con i suoi synth di produzione italiana, le moto Caballero e i ciclomotori Piaggio, i brand di moda paninara, le lampade Artemide, Poltronova e il design che ancora oggi ci invidia.
