Miles Goodman (1926-2008) was an American composer known for his film and television scores. Born in New York, Goodman studied music composition at the Mannes College of Music. His career in show business began in the 1950s with composing music for radio and theater programs. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Goodman composed soundtracks for numerous films and television series, including "The Virginian", "Bonanza" and "Gunsmoke". His musical style was characterized by catchy melodies and an effective use of orchestral instruments. Among his most famous compositions are those for the film "The Great Escape" (1963) and the television series "Hawaii Five-O" (1968-1980). Goodman won numerous awards, including an Emmy Award for his music in "The Virginian".
