Simone Tomassini is an Italian singer-songwriter and musician born in Como. Active on the music scene since 2000, he signed his first record deal with Bollicine, Vasco Rossi's label, thanks to meeting Enrico Rovelli, who became his manager. His debut at the Sanremo Music Festival in 2004 with "È stato tanto tempo fa" marked his entry into the mainstream and the beginning of an intense phase, filled with tours, Festivalbar appearances, and opening acts for Vasco Rossi's concerts. He also collaborated with Rossi on the writing of "Giorni", the title track of his first album. Over the following years, Tomassini released several albums, consolidating a recognizable stylistic signature between melodic rock-pop and song form, alternating recording activities and live performances. Among his most important albums are "Buon viaggio", "Sesso gioia rock'n roll", "Va tutto bene" and the self-titled "Simone Tomassini". Alongside his musical career, he participated in benefit projects with the Italian National Singers, collaborated as a songwriter for other artists – including Paolo Meneguzzi – and published his first book, "Confessions... of a madman", in 2011. In 2024, on the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of his first Sanremo appearance, he released a cover version of Toto Cutugno's "L'Italiano" on a limited-edition 45 rpm vinyl and received the "Roma Videoclip Award" at the Casa del Cinema in Rome. Tomassini continues to be active with new singles, tours, international experiences, and projects that combine music, commitment, and autobiographical storytelling. With the "I dettagli" project, which intertwines music and writing into an extended narrative between album and book, Tomassini returns to placing the song at the center as a space of observation, storytelling, and connection with those who listen.
