Corrado Ciervo (Benevento, 1988) is an Italian multi-instrumentalist and composer with extensive experience in the music field. He began studying violin, guitar, and percussion from a young age. He joined the Musicalia, a historic formation of Italian folk music, at a very young age, performing hundreds of concerts in Italy (including Galleria Alberto Sordi in Rome and Palazzo Sansevero in Naples) and abroad (Drenthe, Brugge, Rovinj and Zagreb, Sandanski and Melnik, up to the famous Old Town School of Folk in Chicago). With the Musicalia he recorded the albums "inCantamenti", "Collectio" and "Fragile Fragments". In 2010 he participated in the shows for the 150th anniversary of Italian unification ("Italia mia, benché il cantar") and "Lauda inCantata", a musical-theatrical action based on texts by Plato, Augustine, Ambrose, Turoldo, Santucci. In 2011 he founded the band La Rua Catalana, with whom he released the EPs "La Rua Catalana" (2011) and "Something New" (2012), the albums "Island Tales" (2015) and "Fonexènos" (2018). As a violinist, he collaborates with the bluegrass band La Terza Classe, with whom he undertakes two long American tours in thirty states, performing in New York at Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, Bluegrass Underground and Music City Roots, up to Nashville. He has collaborated as a producer with other artists and curated the music for the documentary "Sette anni di attese" by Valerio Vestoso on the seven-year rites of Guardia Sanframondi. He participates in the Apolline Project (archaeological excavations in Pollena Trocchia) and various workshops (theatre, anthropology of symbols, rituals and festive practices). His cultural background is rich: a degree in Conservation of Cultural Heritage with studies in music history, ethnomusicology, ethnology and cultural anthropology, completed by a master's degree in Archaeology and History of Art with a thesis on string instruments from ancient Greece. "Mousiké Téchne" is his first solo work.
