Lalo Schifrin (Buenos Aires, March 21, 1932 – Los Angeles, December 16, 2023) was an Argentine composer, arranger, and pianist of international fame. Schifrin composed soundtracks for over 150 films and television series, including "Mission: Impossible", "Dirty Harry" and "The Man with the Golden Gun". His music is characterized by an innovative jazzy sound that blends Latin American and orchestral elements. Schifrin won numerous awards, including a Grammy Award for the soundtrack of "Shaft" (1971) and an Emmy Award for the television series "The Rockford Files" (1974). Among his most famous pieces are the main theme of "Mission: Impossible", "Theme from Shaft" and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly".
