James Lance Bass, known simply as Lance Bass, is an American singer, dancer, actor, and television producer born on May 4, 1979, in Laurel, Mississippi. He is primarily known for being a member of the pop music group *NSYNC, active from 1995 to 2002. With the group, he sold over 70 million albums worldwide, becoming one of the most popular musical groups of the 1990s and 2000s. After the group's disbandment, Bass embarked on a solo career with the album "The Beat Goes On" (2006) and participated in several television reality shows like "Dancing with the Stars". In 2014, he became co-host of a music podcast called "Dirty Pop". Bass is also an LGBTQ+ rights activist and in 2006 was one of the first members of the pop group to publicly come out. Some of *NSYNC's most representative songs are: "Tearin' Up My Heart", "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me".
