Main Source was an American/Canadian hip hop group formed in New York City and Toronto. The group consisted of Toronto-based DJs and producers Sir Scratch and K-Cut, and Queens-born MC Large Professor. During their active years, Main Source made a significant contribution to the 1990s hip hop scene with a sound characterized by jazzy samples and funky rhythms. Their debut album, "Funky Technicians", released in 1992, is considered a genre classic and launched Large Professor's career as a producer. Among the group's most representative tracks are "Looking at You", "Just Hangin' Out" and "Live at the Barbeque". After the release of "Funky Technicians", the group continued to release albums and singles until 1996, when Large Professor was replaced by MC Mikey D. Main Source disbanded in 2000.
