Tuomas Lauri Johannes Holopainen (born January 26, 1973) is a Finnish musician internationally renowned as the keyboardist, composer, and co-founder of the symphonic metal band Nightwish. Holopainen began composing music at a young age, influenced by classical artists such as Bach and Beethoven. In 1996, he founded Nightwish with Tarja Turunen (vocals), Emppu Vuorinen (guitar), and Jukka Nevalainen (drums). The band has since released ten studio albums to international acclaim.
