Thomas Earl Petty, better known as Tom Petty, was an American singer-songwriter, musician, record producer, and actor. Known for his rock style characterized by catchy melodies and introspective lyrics, he achieved international fame in the late 1970s with the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The band released numerous successful albums, including "Full Moon Fever" (1989) and "Wildflowers" (1994), which cemented his position as one of the pillars of American rock. Besides the Heartbreakers, Petty collaborated with other prominent artists, forming the supergroup Traveling Wilburys alongside George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Bob Dylan.
