Stare at this light inside I've found
It's haunting and beautiful
Feels like a dagger to my heart
Now lost in the metaphor
Am I the devil, am I God?
Or am I irrelevant?
Just know that I'm scared to death
So tell me you love me again
You became a part of me
Buried my fuck-ups
And forced myself to stay
Awake in the tidal wave
You became a part of me
How could I ever be more thankful?
Just a smile could kill the king
Remind him that he can bleed
Burn this castle to the ground
The moment you show your teeth
Am I the lion, am I frail?
Questioning everything
I'm stronger than I believe
But I'm failing again and again
You became a part of me
Buried my fuck-ups
And forced myself to stay
Awake in the tidal wave
You became a part of me
How could I ever be more thankful?
You're more than you'll ever know
You're more than you'll ever know
You're more than you'll ever know
You became a part of me
Buried my fuck-ups
And forced myself to stay
Awake in the tidal wave
You became a part of me
How could I ever be more thankful?
Story of the Year is an American rock band formed in St. Louis, Missouri in 1995. Initially called 67 North, they later changed their name to Big Blue Monkey before finally settling on Story of the Year in 2002 after releasing their self-titled EP on the indie label Criterion Records. They chose this name after discovering that a blues group already existed under the name Big Blue Monkey. The band's primary musical style is post-hardcore and alternative rock. Their most active period was between 2001 and 2016, with a reunion in 2019. Some of their most representative songs include "Anthem", "Sidewalks", and "Until the Day I Die". Their debut album "Pageant of the Bizarre" (2003) achieved considerable success, reaching number 48 on the Billboard 200 chart.
