Savatage is an American heavy metal band formed in Tampa, Florida, in the early 1980s. The founding members were brothers Jon Oliva (vocals and keyboards) and Criss Oliva (guitar), along with drummer Steve "Doc" Wacholz. The band quickly gained a solid fan base in Florida and released their debut album, *Sirens*, in 1983.
