Michael McDonald (born February 12, 1952) is an American singer and songwriter five times winner of the Grammy Award. Sometimes described as a "blue-eyed soul" singer, McDonald has a distinctive "husky, soulful" baritone voice. He is known for his work with the Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan, and for several hits as a solo artist. McDonald was influenced by artists like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, and is recognized for his ability to blend elements of soul, R and B and pop in his music.
