The Vivian Girls are an American indie rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in March 2007. Comprised of Cassie Ramone (vocals and guitar), Kiki Picasso (guitar) and Alexa Chung (bass), the band gained popularity in the late 2000s through platforms like MySpace, finding a following primarily among American college students. After some independent releases, the Vivian Girls were signed to labels such as In the Red and Polyvinyl. In 2014, the band disbanded to pursue solo or parallel projects. They reunited in 2018, continuing to produce music and perform live. The Vivian Girls are considered by many music critics to be among the pioneers of the indie rock scene of the 2010s.
