Héctor Walter Giardino (Buenos Aires, 1957) is an Argentine guitarist and singer, a prominent figure in the Latin American heavy metal and hard rock music scene. Giardino is the founder and leader of the band Rata Blanca, which has helped define the Argentinian heavy metal style in the 1980s. Giardino stands out for his virtuoso guitar technique and his catchy melodies, often inspired by Argentine folk tradition. Among the most representative songs of Rata Blanca are "El Reino del Fuego", "La Noche de los Muertos" and "Solo en el Mundo". Giardino has collaborated with numerous Argentinian and international artists, contributing to the spread of heavy metal music worldwide.
