La Roux is a British musical duo formed in London in 2008 by Elly Jackson (vocals) and Ben Langmaid (production, keyboards). Their sound draws inspiration from the synthpop of the 1980s, with influences from artists such as Yazoo, The Human League, Heaven 17, and Blancmange. The name of the group derives from Elly Jackson's red hair. La Roux achieved international success in 2009 with the single "In for the Kill", which topped the British and European charts. Their self-titled debut album, released the same year, was critically acclaimed and sold millions of copies worldwide. Among the group's most notable songs are also "Bulletproof" and "Quicksand". La Roux disbanded in 2014 to later reunite in 2018 with the release of the album "Supervision".
