Killing Joke is a British rock band formed in Notting Hill, London, in 1979. Considered pioneers of post-punk and progenitors of the goth rock movement, they have profoundly influenced the alternative music scene with their dark, experimental, and often aggressive sound. The only founding member still active is Jaz Coleman, the charismatic singer and frontman known for his theatrical and visionary performances.
