Eternal Tears of Sorrow (commonly abbreviated to EToS) is a Finnish melodic death metal band formed in Pudasjärvi in Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland. Romantic lyrics and soft keyboard melodies show gothic metal influence. Founded in 1998, the band has released seven studio albums, combining elements of death metal with melodic and gothic atmospheres. Among their most notable songs are "The Last Goodbye", "Tears of Sorrow" and "Lost in the Shadows". EToS is considered a key band in the Finnish melodic death metal movement, influencing numerous other bands in the genre.
