Peter and The Test Tube Babies are a punk rock band formed in Peacehaven, England, in 1978 by Del Strangefish and Peter Bywaters. Known for their humorous and ironic lyrics, they are often considered part of the Punk Pathetique subgenre. The band debuted on Sounds magazine in July 1980 and after a John Peel Radio One session, released their first single on the compilation album Vaultage 78. They also contributed two tracks to the seminal Oi! the Album compilation that same year. Peter and The Test Tube Babies are known for absurd lyrics and unusual titles, such as "The Queen Gives Good Blow Jobs". In 1982 they reinterpreted Gary Glitter's hit "I'm the Leader of the Gang (I Am)" on the album Pissed and Proud. The band continues to perform in the 2000s with a polished and professional live show, in contrast to the unserious nature of their lyrics.
