New Edition is an African-American R and B group formed in Boston in 1978. Initially composed of Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant and Ronnie DeVoe, the group dominated the music scene of the 1980s with hits like "Candy Girl", "Cool It Now" and "Mr. Telephone Man".
