Whiplash è una storica band thrash metal americana formatasi nel 1984 a Passaic, New Jersey. I tre fondatori, tutti di nome Tony, erano Tony Portaro (voce e chitarra), Tony Scaglione (batteria) e Tony Bono (basso). Nel 1986 Joe Cangelosi sostituì Scaglione, che ebbe un breve periodo con Slayer. Cangelosi registrò l'album *Ticket to Mayhem* nel 1987 con i due Tonys.
