Lita Rossana Ford (born November 19, 1958) is an American rock musician of British origin, known for her solo career and her time with the all-female rock band The Runaways in the 1970s. Ford began playing guitar at age seven and moved to the United States at fifteen. In 1975, she was recruited for The Runaways, becoming a key figure alongside lead singer Cherie Currie. The Runaways had a significant impact on the female rock music scene, helping to break down gender stereotypes and inspiring generations of musicians. After The Runaways disbanded in 1979, Ford embarked on a solo career, releasing her self-titled debut album in 1983.
