Grand Funk Railroad is an American rock band formed in Michigan in the 1960s. The group, consisting of Mark Farner (vocals, guitar), Don Brewer (drums, vocals) and Mel Schacher (bass), achieved commercial success in the early 1970s with their energetic hard rock sound influenced by blues. Among their most famous songs are "We're an American Band", "The Loco-Motion" and "Some Kind of Wonderful". Grand Funk Railroad was one of the most popular bands of the period, selling millions of records worldwide. The group released several successful albums, including "On Time" (1970), "American Graffiti" (1973) and "Shinin' On" (1974). Despite their popularity declining in the 1980s, Grand Funk Railroad continues to perform live and has a loyal fan base.
