Jeff Parker is an American musician and composer known for his work in contemporary jazz and alternative rock. Born in 1970, Parker began his musical career in the 1990s as a member of the band Tortoise, with whom he has released several successful albums including "Millions Now Living Will Never Hear" (1996) and "It's All Around You" (2004). In addition to his work with Tortoise, Parker has collaborated with numerous other artists, including John McEntire, Matana Roberts, and Makaya McCraven. He released his debut solo album in 2013, "The Relatives", followed by other works such as "Like-Coping" (2016) and "Out Trios Vol. 2" (2019). His musical style is characterized by excellent guitar technique, jazz influences, and free improvisation. Parker is considered one of the most innovative musicians of his generation.
