Coming up roses

the age of seven, emotional heaven
but out of your cocoon you came
they made you grow up, they made you throw up
funny thing, they did the same to me

but since then times have changed
and you're not alone
what we were we'll be again
so you're not alone

oh we're coming up roses
running into the life we thought we left behind
nothing has changed
yet everything's turning round
oh we're used to heartache
we turned ourselves around

you said you've been losing just what you were finding
somewhere deep on these avenues
can't seem to remember, is this may or december?
how the days run away from you

but since then the times have changed
and you're not alone
and how the sky, it's rearranged
so you're not alone

oh we're coming up roses
running into the life we thought we left behind
nothing has changed
yet everything's turning round
oh we're used to heartache
we turned ourselves around

the biggest killer is what you keep inside
the biggest killer is what you keep inside
the biggest killer is what you keep inside
the biggest killer is what you can't deny

we couldn't get over those white cliffs of dover
you found yourself back at beachy head
the water's inviting, those currents colliding
stare into the face of death

but since then the times have changed
and you're not alone
and how the sky, it's rearranged
and it's wonderful

oh we're coming up roses
running into the life we thought we left behind
nothing has changed
yet everything's turning round
oh we're used to heartache
we turned ourselves around

oooh, oooh

oh we're coming on up
we're coming up roses
we're coming on up
we're coming up roses
we're coming on up
we're coming up roses
we're coming on up
we're coming up

oh we're coming up roses
running into the life we thought we left behind
nothing has changed
yet everything's turned around.
