Caelestis nasce come progetto solista di Cataldo Cappiello negli ultimi mesi del 2009. Un mix di new age, ambient ed elettronica caratterizza tre full-length ed un EP di una one-man band in evoluzione, la cui ricerca e sperimentazione sonora conduce Cataldo nel 2012 a produrre "Nel Suo Perduto Nimbo", un album industrial black metal dove la cantante Vera Clinco, guest vocalist nella canzone "Dove La Luce", approccia per la prima volta il progetto. Tempo dopo Vera entra nella band in pianta stabile e il 1° Settembre 2013, dopo la pubblicazione del singolo "Io E Te Siamo La Luna?, viene pubblicato l'Ep "Heliocardio?, in cui compare anche il batterista Flavio Staiano, che milita brevemente nel progetto. Con questo Ep Caelestis cambia anche immagine, riuscendo a trasporre visivamente quanto trasmesso in musica: i componenti della band hanno ora sull'occhio sinistro misteriosi simboli che si rifanno all'antica leggenda dell' 'occhio del cuore', capace di scrutare cose invisibili all'occhio destro. Con l'arrivo di Fabiana Figurati al basso e di Piero Avitabile alle tastiere, nel 2014 la line-up si completa e la band è ora al lavoro su nuovi progetti.
