Ross The Boss is an American guitarist and singer, best known for being the founder and leader of the heavy metal band Manowar in the 1980s. Born Ross Friedman in 1954, he began his musical career in the early 1970s with several local bands. In 1980, together with Joey DeMaio, he formed Manowar, becoming one of the pillars of the American heavy metal movement. His powerful guitar playing and energetic performances helped define the aggressive and epic sound of the band. After a period of success with Manowar, Ross The Boss left the band in 1988 to pursue a solo career. He has released several solo albums, always maintaining a powerful and melodic heavy metal style. Among his most representative songs are "Hail to England", "Kings of Metal" and "Blood of My Enemies".
