Barathrum is a Finnish black doom band originating from Kuopio but has since relocated to Helsinki. The name of the group refers to the abyss, a deep and dark chasm that represents the essence of their music. The first letters of their full-length albums spell "HEIL SOVA", an homage to founder and main composer Demonos Sova, completing their original eight-album plan. Despite this, rumors have circulated about a new record after the release of "Anno Aspera". The rumors have turned out to be true, so Barathrum will at least once more enter the studio to record a new album.
