Sie sprechen kein einziges Wort und machen nicht halt.
Beim vorbeiziehen wechselt einer sein Pferd,
springt zu seinem Nachbarn in den Sattel, doch sein rappen macht kehrt.
Und die Reiter preschen weiter, so als folgten sie Hufen.
Der Nebel schließt sich still, wie ein Vorhang hinter ihren Hufen.
Zurück bleibt der Rappe. Er schnaubt aus den Nüstern.
