The Miracles were an American vocal group known for their soul, R and B, and disco music. Active from 1958 to 2000, the group originated in Detroit, Michigan, and was founded by Smokey Robinson. They achieved international fame in the 1960s with hits such as "Shop Around", "My Girl", and "The Tracks of My Tears". The Miracles collaborated with Motown Records for much of their career, helping to define the sound of American soul music. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
