Hearing the screams of my mother yell
Looking at dad grab his leather belt
Holding the tears back in my eyes
'Cause he told me that men don't cry
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry
Men don't cry, don't cry, don't cry
Standing up straight and doing as I'm told
Ringing in my ears on controlled
I look like a girl so he's cutting my hair
I got to make sure I don't embarrass him here
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry
Men don't cry, don't cry, don't cry
I patiently waited 'til I turned 18
Then bought a gun and put my daddy to sleep
Watching the tears roll from his eyes
Whispered to him that men don't cry
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight
Palaye Royale is an American rock band formed in Las Vegas in 2008 by brothers Remington Leith (vocals), Sebastian Danzig (guitar) and Emerson Barrett (drums). Initially known as Kropp Circle, they changed their name to Palaye Royale in the summer of 2011, taking inspiration from the Palais Royale ballroom in Toronto where their grandparents first met. The band achieved success with the single "Get Higher", which reached number 27 on the Billboard Modern Rock Charts in 2016. They were also the first independent band to win MTV's March Madness, defeating artists like Linkin Park. Their sound is characterized by a mix of hard rock, glam metal and theatrical influences, with lyrics exploring themes of love, loss, identity and rebellion. Among their most important albums are "Boom Boom Room (Side A)" (2018) and "The Bastards" (2021). Other representative tracks include "Nervous Breakdown", "Madi Gras" and "Lonely Ones".
