DevilDriver è una band heavy metal americana proveniente da Santa Barbara, in California. Formatasi nel 2002, il gruppo vede alla guida Dez Fafara, ex vocalist di Coal Chamber, che, insoddisfatto della direzione musicale presa dalla sua precedente band, incontrò alcuni musicisti con interessi simili durante un barbecue e una serata al bar. Fafara, insieme ai chitarristi Evan Pitts e Jeff Kendrick, al bassista Jon Miller e al batterista John Boecklin, formò inizialmente Deathride. A causa di problemi di copyright e del nome già utilizzato da diverse band, il gruppo cambiò nome in DevilDriver, un riferimento alle campane utilizzate dalle streghe italiane per scacciare le forze maligne.
