Soraya Arnelas Rubiales, known simply as Soraya, is a Spanish pop and rhythm and blues singer. Born in Madrid in 1985, she rose to national fame by participating in the Spanish talent show Operación Triunfo in 2006, finishing second. After the show, she signed a record deal with Universal Music and released her debut album, "Soraya", in 2007. The album was a huge success in Spain, achieving platinum certification.
