Racer X è stata una band heavy metal statunitense formatasi a Los Angeles nel 1984 dal chitarrista Paul Gilbert. Considerati pionieri del shred metal, hanno raggiunto un notevole successo negli anni '80 con album come "Street Lethal" (1986) e "Second Heat" (1988). Il loro stile musicale era caratterizzato da riff veloci, virtuosismi chitarristici e melodie accattivanti.
