Anohni, born Anthony Hegarty in London in 1971, is a British-American singer-songwriter, composer, and performer. He began his musical career as the frontman of Antony and the Johnsons, with whom he released critically acclaimed albums such as "Antony and the Johnsons" (2000) and "I Am a Bird Now" (2005), the latter winning a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. Anohni is known for his powerful and emotive voice, his poetic and introspective lyrics that explore themes of love, loss, spirituality, and identity. In 2016, he released his debut solo album, "Hopelessness", an electronic and experimental work that tackles social and political issues. Anohni is also a visual artist and has collaborated with directors and choreographers on multimedia projects. Some of his most representative songs include "Hope There's Someone", "Cripple and the Starfish", and "4 Degrees of Separation".
