Abhorrent is an American musical group formed in 1988. Considered pioneers of the grindcore genre, they are known for their extremely fast, aggressive and brutal music. Their sound is characterized by distorted riffs, frantic drums and lyrics often of a political or social nature. Among the most representative songs are "Rage", "Bloodlust" and "Death Sentence". The debut album, "Abhorrent", dates back to 1989 and has contributed to defining the aesthetics and sound of grindcore. Abhorrent have collaborated with other underground bands such as Repulsion and Pig Destroyer.
