Roger Keith Barrett, known as Syd Barrett, was a British singer-songwriter, guitarist, and composer considered one of the pioneers of psychedelic rock. Born in Cambridge in 1946, Barrett founded Pink Floyd in 1965 with Nick Mason, Roger Waters, and Richard Wright.
