David Sylvian, born David Alan Batt in 1958, is a British singer, musician, and composer known for his ethereal voice and experimental approach to music. He rose to fame as the frontman of the new wave band Japan in the 1970s and 1980s. Following the band's disbandment, Sylvian embarked on a highly successful solo career, exploring genres such as art pop, avant-rock, and ambient.
