Violent Femmes are an American alternative rock/country punk band formed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1980. Composed of Gordon Gano (vocals, guitar), Brian Ritchie (bass, percussion) and Victor DeLorenzo (drums), they achieved international fame with their unique sound that blends elements of folk, blues, and rockabilly. Their self-titled debut album in 1983 became a underground success, thanks to tracks like "Blister in the Sun" and "Add It Up".
