Epik High is a South Korean alternative hip hop trio formed in Seoul in 2001. The group consists of Tablo (lyrics and production), Mithra Jin (rap) and DJ Tukutz (turntablism). Considered pioneers of the hip hop genre in South Korea, Epik High have achieved immense popularity thanks to their introspective, poetic and often politically charged music. Their musical style is characterized by complex lyrics, intricate rhymes and innovative productions that blend elements of jazz, funk and rock. Among their most representative songs are "Map of the Soul", "Born Hater" and "Hometalk". The album "Shoebox" (2005) is considered a turning point in their career, while "99" (2017) marked a new chapter of success. Epik High have collaborated with numerous international artists, including CL, Zion.T and Beenzino.
