Bane is a hardcore punk band from Worcester, Massachusetts, formed in the 1990s. The original core was composed of Aaron Dalbec (ex Converge) and Damon Bellardo, who started as a side project. After a brief period with Matt Firestone on vocals, the lineup solidified with the addition of Aaron Bedard (ex Backbone). In 1996 their first EP was released, followed by numerous shows in central Massachusetts. Their local success led them to record the *Free To Think, Free To Be* EP in 1997 and the album *Holding This Moment* in 1998, which also marked their first US tour. Bane is known for its energetic music and themes of tolerance and unity within the hardcore scene.
