Skinnyman, born Alex Holland in 1974 in Leeds, Yorkshire, is a British rapper known for his raw and introspective style. He moved to Finsbury Park, London at a young age and formed the group Mud Family with Mongo and Chester P (now of Task Force). The group released several EPs, including "Itchy Town" and "Lash Suttin", a rework of Redman's "Smash Something". In 2004 Skinnyman released his debut solo album, "Council Estate of Mind", a work that solidified his reputation as one of the most original and talented rappers in the British scene. His style is characterized by complex rhymes, fluid rap flows and often introspective lyrics that explore social and personal themes.
