Ricky Nelson, born Eric Hilliard Nelson, was an American singer and actor who achieved great success in the rock and roll scene of the 1950s and 1960s. Son of famous actor Ozzie Nelson, Ricky began his career as a member of the family band "The Nelson Family", performing on popular television shows like "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet". In 1957, with the single "I'm Walkin'", he achieved immediate success that established him as one of the brightest stars of rock and roll. Throughout his career, Ricky Nelson sold millions of records and recorded numerous hits, including "Hello Mary Lou", "Travelin' Man" and "Garden Party". His music was influenced by country and rhythm and blues, and he contributed to defining the style of American rock and roll. Besides music, Ricky Nelson acted in several films and television shows, solidifying his status as a cultural icon of his time. His career was tragically cut short in 1985 when he died in a plane crash along with the musical group accompanying him.
