Racer X was an American heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1984 by guitarist Paul Gilbert. Considered pioneers of shred metal, they achieved considerable success in the 1980s with albums like "Street Lethal" (1986) and "Second Heat" (1988). Their musical style was characterized by fast riffs, guitar virtuosity, and catchy melodies.
